Dunatis is a Gaulish deity known from inscriptions at Culoz (CIL XIII 02532) where he i ivoked as Segomo Dunatis Mars, Ain and Bouhy (CIL XIII 02899), Nièvre, France. At Nièvre he is associated with Mars Bolvinnus and at Culoz he is equated with Mars Segomo.
Dunatis' name bears the Celtic cmponent Dun meaning fortress of fortification. Thus the name probably means something like 'Lord of the Fortress' or 'Protector of Fortresses'. His association with Segomo, a warrior deity makes it likely that Dunatis' function may have been that of a protector of fortifications.
