Indeg is known from a single mention in verse 57 the Trioedd Ynys Prydain. This verse follows directly on from triad 56 which gives Arthur's three chief wives and here we are given the name if Indeg as one of Arthur's three mistresses. She is also mentioned amongst the lists of heroes in the Mabinogi of Culhwch ac Olwen. She was also known to the subsequent poets, (known collectively as the Cywyddwyr). Gruffudd ap Meredudd alludes to her relationship with Arthur. Dafydd ap Gwilym uses he as the standard of feminine beauty. However, whatever tale was originally attached to the name of this heroine has been entirely lost to us.
