Meduio is a deity known from a single inscription found at at Noves, Bouches-du-Rhône, France. Beyond the name nothing is known about this deity and even the name presents interpretational dificulties. It is fairly obviously related to the reconstructed proto-Celtic lexical element *medwo- (drunkenness) and seems related to the Cymric word meddwi (to become drunk) thus Meduio may be a god of drink-induced intoxication; a possible cognate of the Roman Bacchus.
