Toutorix is a deity known from a single inscription found at Wiesbaden, Germany (CIL XIII 07564) where he is assimilated by Interpretato Romana with the cult of Roman Apollo.

Etymologically this deity's name is very closse to that of both Toutenus and Teutates. His name can be derived from the reconstructed protot-Celtic elements: *teutā- (people, tribe) and *rig- (king) giving us 'King of the Tribe'. Thus it would seem that this deity was considered as a tribal leader. Though his assimilation with Apollo is interesting for Apollo was the god of music and poetry, the epitome of masculine beauty. Apollo was also the god of colonization who gave guidance to the colonies. It is possibly in this respect that Toutiorix is assimilated with Apollo as a deity of the 'Protector of the Tribe' type.
