Ulatias is a goddess known from a single Gaulish inscription (written with Greek characters) found at Collorgues, Languedoc-Roussillon, France which invokes her as Oυ]λατιαβ[ο (RIG I, G-184). The same goddess is undoubtedly the Tutelary deity of the Ulatti a Celtic peoples of the Alps (who were defeated and brought under Roman rule by Augustus Caesar).
Though no image of Ulatias has been found to date, her name can be derived from the reconstructed proto-Celtic elements: *wlati- (sovereignty) along with the feminine particle -a-. Thus Ulatias is the goddess of Sovereignty and may have once had a similar role as Gwenhwyfar does in Cymric mythology (being the spiritual representation of the land itself).
