This is the description page for Calvados and includes a description as well as an image, if available and a selection of recipes from this site that relates to the cookery term: Calvados.

Calvados is an apple brandy produced in the Normandy region of France. Cider is first made from the apples and this is then matured in oak barrels. In Normandy it's traditionally served as a digestif during the meal. It can be used in cooking, particularly in Norman specialities such as chicken with cream and calvados, crêpes flambé or apple-based dishes.
