(Lamb Stew with Spices) Recipe

Origin: Eritrea      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tbsp Berbere spice
450g lamb, cubed
1 medium potato, chopped
1 small tin tomato paste
1/2 tsp salt
900ml beef stock

(Lamb Stew with Spices) Preparation:


Method:

Fry the onion gently in the oil for five minutes then add the berbere spice and lamb and fry for 10 minutes before adding he tomato paste, salt and stock. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.

Serve with Taita.
