Somali Crabmeat Stew Recipe

Origin: Somalia      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

200g onions, finely chopped
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp salt
1 tsp red chilli flakes
60ml groundnut oil
450g tomatoes, cut into small wedges
900g crabmeat (or any seafood)

Somali Crabmeat Stew Preparation:


Method:

In a large, heavy saucepan add the oil. Heat then add the onions, curry powder, ginger, salt and chilli flakes. Fry until the onions are soft then add the tomatoes. Simmer until the tomatoes begin to cook then add the crabmeat. Cook gently for 10 minutes then serve over boiled rice.
