This is the Modern Welsh of the Tristan poem fragments Dau Ddarn o Chwedl Trystan (Two Fragments of Tristan's Legend?) from the the Llyfr Du Caerfyrddin (Black Book of Carmarthen). It is rendered as close as possible to the original using my font, Mabinogi Celtic which is free for anyone to download and install. This is one of the earliest surviving portions of Tristan's (Drystan's) tale.

Dau Ddarn o Chwedl Drystan

Pe carai ef y morfa, casau ef y dŵr
Paham y gorchuddia [ei] don graig yr arwr?
Arwr dewr, rhagorol, annwyl, hael
esgynfaen beirdd boed gyscod buddiol
gwnaeth y clod-arlwywr ffafr anargoelus
Hyd Dydd y Farn pery ei alar

Pe carai ef y morfa, casau ef y don
Trais y don a beri clwyf oer rhyngddom
Ef a alarai tra fyddaf fwy oherwydd hyn
gorchwyl bywiog y golchi drosof i nas yw'n arwr
hyd y llenwir y meddwl ni chynhyrfa'r galon
ac yn llwybyr Cyheig cymod fydd rhagddom.

pan frysiai'r milwr disglair yn bell i'w angau
