The dialogue between Ugnach and Taliessin

A rider approaches the city
with his white [hunting] dogs and his great horn(s)
I know him not, I have newly seen him.

A rider approaches the confluence
on a great steed, ready for battle
Come with me, do not refuse my proposal.

I shall not go there upon this hour
Intentionally do I tarry
The blessing of heaven and earth upon thee.

The man who saw me not, each day
Who looks to be a fortunate man
Where are you going? From whence did you come?

I come from the Fortress of Zion
From battling with Jews
I go to the fortress of Lleu and Gwydion

Come with me to the city
and you shall receive mead from tender Hellas
and pure gold upon your shield

I do not recognize the bold man
Who promises me fire and bed
Fair and sweet words do you speak

Come with me to my native realm
and you will receive overflowing wine
My name is Ugnach, son of Myddno.

Ugnach, a blessing on your court
and may you receive dignity and honour
I am Taliessin and I shall repay you for the feast.

Taliessin, chief amongs men
Challenger in bardic contests
remain here until Wednesday

Ugnach, great of wealth
May you receive grace in the upper realm
I deserve not slander: I shall not remain
